Being overweight or obese isn't just a "self-image" problem - it's a treatable medical condition. Amerithin physicians have the ability to prescribe weight loss medication, appetite suppresants, etc. that actually work. If the physician determines that you're eligible, you could take a prescription weight loss medication such as Phentermine, which work by suppressing your appetite (or making you "not hungry" all of the time).

Phentermine is an FDA approved appetite suppressant that can be used effectively on short-term basis and must be taken as part of a regular diet and exercise program that incorpoerates behavior modification. Phentermine is the generic form of Adipex and works in two ways: One is with the hypothalamus portion of the brain to release norepinephrine, a neurotransmitter or chemical messenger that helps to reducing hunger. The second way Phentermine works is outside the brain as well to release epinephrine or adrenaline, which cause fat cells to break down stored fat. A physician must be consulted for proper dosing and dispense, as the dosage must be strictly regulated. As with all prescription drugs, if you do not understand the directions, ask your physician, nurse or pharmacist to explain them to you.

Phendimetrazine is an FDA approved appetite suppressant that can be used effectively on a shot term basis and must be taken as part of a regular diet and exercise program that incorporates behavior modification. Phendimetrazine is the generic form of Bontril. It works by stimulating the Central Nervous System by increasing heart rate and blood pressure while decreasing your appetite. Phendimetrazine can be taken in two ways: One is a Sustained Release Formula that is taken once daily. Secondly, it can be taken in the Immediate-release Formula two or three times daily. A physician must be consulted for proper dosing and dispense, as the dosage must be strictly regulated. As with all prescription drugs, if you do not understand the directions, ask your physician, nurse or pharmacist to explain them to you.
